"WHY PUT PRESSURE ONLY ON BUMRAH ALONE?" ASKS CHETAN SHARMA!

Former Indian Pacer Chetan Sharma has opined that Jasprit Bumrah should be rested from playing Test cricket in India as a talent like him should not be wasted.

"I think he should be rested. We should not waste a talent like him. There's a reason why he's the best bowler in the world now, we should not test him in these conditions at all," Sharma was quoted as saying by India Today.

He said the team should stop putting pressure on Bumrah alone as there are a lot of other fast bowling options such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma and Navdeep Saini. "Times have changed, gone are the days when we used to depend only on Kapil Dev as the lone wicket-taking fast bowler. Now we have one of the best bowling line-ups in the world. So give them chances, why put pressure only on Bumrah alone?""

Jasprit Bumrah has played 12 Test matches so far and all of them have been played on foreign soil. He has 62 Test wickets at an average of 19.24 to his name.
