Competition Commission of India (CCI) has reportedly fined the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of over Rs 52 crore for anti-competitive conduct to increase the commercial interest and value of Indian Premier League (IPL) by promising the broadcasters that it will not encourage or allow any other domestic cricket series which might be a competition to the IPL. As per the order, BCCI has been fined for its assurance to the broadcasters of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that it "shall not organise, sanction, recognise, or support another professional domestic Indian T20 competition that is competitive to IPL, for a sustained period of ten years".
