VIDEO: ANIL KUMBLE REACTS AFTER PM MODI USES HIS 'BROKEN JAW' EXAMPLE DURING SPEECH
Home > News Shots > SportsIt was an epic moment for former cricketer Anil Kumble after Prime Minister Narendra Modi used his example to motivate students ahead of exams.
At a recent event titled as ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, the Prime Minister explained how Kumble bowled with a broken jaw in the historic Kolkata Test. During the event, PM Modi reminded students of Anil Kumble heroic skills as well as the famous VVS Laxman-Rahul Dravid.
In the speech he said, "Our cricket team was facing setbacks. The mood was not very good. But in those moments can we ever forget what Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman did? They turned the match around."
"Similarly, who can forget Anil Kumble bowling with an injury. This is the power of motivation and positive thinking," PM Modi added.
Days after the event, the renowned leg-spinner thanked the Prime Minister and said that he was honoured to have been mentioned by him. "Honoured to have been mentioned in #ParikshaPeCharcha2020 Thankyou Hon. PM @narendramodi ji. Best wishes to everyone writing their exams," he tweeted.
