As Rashid is playing for Barbados Tridents, and Russell is part of the Jamaica Tallawahs squad; both the teams locked horns in a recent game. During the match, Russell was seen imitating Rashid's celebration after he narrowly escaped a dismissal against the spinner.
The incident took place during the 18th over of the Jamaica Tallawahs' when Russell was batting on 41 off just 20 balls. When Russell tried to play a big shot on the final delivery of the over, Rashid's googly managed to kiss his stumps. The bails actually lit up but failed to fall off which gave Russell a new life.
Soon after that Russell was seen imitating Rashid's celebration on the pitch. The video of that moment was shared by CPL's official Twitter handle after which it went viral.
Talking about the match, Russell scored 54 off 28 balls after surviving and helped Jamaica Tallawahs put up a total of 161 runs on the board in 20 overs. Meanwhile, Barbados Tridents made the target of 165 runs with ten balls to spare with the help of a brilliant half-century from captain Jason Holder. They won the game by seven wickets but still remain at the fifth spot on the points table.
