IF MS DHONI IS NOT THERE, WHAT WOULD BE THE FUTURE OF CSK? - SENIOR CRICKETER OPENS UP
Home > News Shots > SportsThe Indian Premier League is all set to kick off on September 19. The three times champions who are currently looking to win the title for the fourth time, the Chennai Super Kings team has been off to a rough start after several members tested positive. The practice sessions were postponed and isolation period was increased. Adding to this, senior players Harbhajan Singh and Raina chose to not play this year.
However, the big question now is regarding the skipper MS Dhoni’s retirement. Speaking about what will happen to CSK franchise after Dhoni retires, former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra in a recent YouTube video said, “The franchise will become half if Dhoni the captain and Dhoni the player is not there. So this problem will be there with this team.”
“At some stage he will call it quits, then Chennai Super Kings will be at a huge loss even if not being half the side. Because the way that team has been managed by Dhoni, no one can do that.
“I do feel that whoever becomes the next captain or plays for CSK, will have MS Dhoni’s protection. Because Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings is a marriage made in heaven,” he added.
Further, Chopra predicted, “So he will be there, if not a captain, as a brand ambassador or mentor, he will be there in the Chennai Super Kings’ dugout is what I feel and they will need him.”
