Shahid Afridi was recently asked to name his all-time Worldcup XI for ESPN Cricinfo.
His team was: Saeed Anwar, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Virat Kohli, Inzamam ul-Haq, Jacques Kallis, Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Shoaib Akhtar, Saqlain Mushtaq
After this, there were a number of fans questioning some of his choices. Sachin Tendulkar who is the most successful batsman in the world cup was missing, and Muralitharan who is the most successful spinner was also missing.
Afridi has now come out and answered the question on why he picked Virat Kohli over Sachin Tendulkar and the absence of MS Dhoni. He said to PTI as reported by Hindustan Times that “Sachin and Dhoni are greats and they have achieved a lot for Indian cricket. I picked Kohli because he just looks so majestic and beautiful to watch while batting,”.
