Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has picked his all-time Indian Premier League (IPL) XI. The cash-rich tournament was suspended indefinitely by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chopra has named David Warner and Rohit Sharma as the opening pair. Warner has 4,706 runs - highest by a foreign player - from 126 matches to his name while Rohit is the third-highest run-scorer in the tournement at 4898 runs.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina will enter at number three and four respectively. AB de Villiers will bat at number five.
Chopra did not pick any all-rounders in his team. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni who is the also the captain of Chopra's team will don the wickt-keeping gloves.
Bowling unit includes spinners Harbhajan Singh and Sunil Narine, Seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga.
Chopra additionally picked Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) former leader Gautam Gambhir and current all-rounder, Andre Russell, as the two reserve players.
