Delhi and Chennai Metro Rail systems have reportedly decided to install platform screen doors (PSD) in the underground stations to prevent suicide attempts. Notably, the PSD will work in tandem with the train doors, thereby blocking passengers from accessing the train tracks. According to reports, 76 people attempted suicide in Delhi Metro in 2016.
