Mohamed Abdullahi, the president of Somalia reportedly declared the country a war zone and ordered the army to prepare a new offensive against the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab militants. "We tell the brainwashed al-Shabaab fighters that they have a 60-days deadline to lay down the arms," said Abdullahi. This comes after al-Shabaab has denounced Abdullahi as an apostate and warned Somalis against supporting him.
