The Ministry of Earth Sciences on Saturday submitted its report of its one-and-a-half month impact assessment of the 'Chennai oil spill.' The assessment Head M V Ramanamurthy reportedly said the sludge from the accident is still there between the location of the oil spill and Chennai Port. The report also assessed that the sludge could 'drift north of Ennore' because of the strong ocean current. The scientists also said that it might take at least three months for it to drift away or evaporate.
