The Chennai City Police on Saturday imposed section 144 in Marina Beach, effective from January 29 until February 12. The ban also includes Ice House, Triplicane and Anna Square areas in Chennai. Further, there is also a prohibition on any form of protest, rally and human chains in these areas. Meanwhile, there is no ban on tourists or the people who turn up to the beach for walking.
