SC order kills a quarter of bars in Goa

Supreme Court’s dismissal of the petition to revisit its order banning liquor vendors within 500m of national and state highways is said to have killed a quarter of bars and liquor traders in Goa. The order is said to shut down 3,000 liquor dealers including bars, restaurants, wholesalers, retailers and warehouses from Saturday. Goa Liquor Traders' Association Dattaprasad Naik reportedly said, "Liquor business will collapse in the state. The Supreme Court order is very harsh."
