Salary of Rs 2 crore for Indian players is peanuts: Shastri

Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri has reportedly termed the increase in payment for contracted players by the BCCI as peanuts. Speaking to the press, he said, "It's nothing, two crores are peanuts. How much is an Australian getting?". Notably, the BCCI had doubled the retainers for all contracted players to Rs 2 crore, Rs 1 crore, and Rs 50 lakh respectively for the three graded categories A, B, and C.
