Tamil Nadu government on Thursday reportedly announced that 4,148 people have died in the state in traffic-related accidents in the first three months of 2017. The government also said that "not following the traffic rules" is the reason for the high number of fatalities. Notably, Tamil Nadu accounts for nearly 14 percent of all road accidents in India.
