The Reserve Bank of India has reportedly announced that it would soon issue new Rs 100 currency notes in the Mahatma Gandhi 2005 series. According to reports, the banking institution, in a notification, also added that the notes would bear the signature of RBI governor Urjit Patel and the printing year on the reverse of the note. Notably, the old notes will continue to remain legal tender.
