Reserve Bank of India deputy governor S.S. Mundra on Tuesday reportedly asked banks to allow its customers to change their banks without changing their account number. Speaking at an event organised by the Standards Board of India, he also reportedly said linking Aadhaar to bank accounts has made it easier for account number portability. Mundra also reportedly warned banks of charging higher rates on services.
