Claudio Ranieri, the coach of defending Premier League Champions, Leicester City, won the 2016’s FIFA men’s coach of the year, ahead of Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, and Portuguese coach Fernando Santos. In the 2015/2016 season, Ranieri led Leicester to their first top-division title in their 132-year history. In the latter part of 2016, he guided them to knockout stages in their maiden foray into the UEFA Champions League.
