Hailing former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as the only good human of Nehru-Gandhi family, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Sunday reportedly said Gandhi contributed to the awakening of the Hindus by allowing the telecast of  Ramayana on Doordarshan. He also reportedly added that Rajiv Gandhi opened the locks of Ram temple at Ayodhya for prayers.
