According to reports, the Indian Railways is set to redevelop about 400 A-1 and A category stations with private participation. Further, Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu said the stations are located in the main cities and are important tourist destinations. Prabhu said the cost of redevelopment would be met by leveraging the commercial development of spare railway land and airspace in and around the station.
