Describing the presidential election as a battle of ideologies and principles, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said the opposition was determined to fight it. The Congress president led the 17 opposition parties when former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar filed her nomination for the Presidential elections. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi reportedly said, “Against the ideology of divisiveness she (Meira Kumar) represents the values that bind us as a nation and people.”
