Unidentified men reportedly hurled a packet and bottle filled with petrol at a Hindu Munnani functionary in Arcot town on Tuesday. According to police, Ilango, president of Arcot town of Hindu Munnani, was returning to his house at Raja Kori Street in Arcot at 11.15 p.m. Unidentified persons hurled a packet containing petrol on him. They also reportedly hurled a bottle that fell close to him. However, he did not sustain injury in the attack, police said.
