The US Animal Welfare Organisation PETA India has reportedly moved to the Supreme Court on Thursday challenging the constitutional validity of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 2017, that had led to the conduct of the bull-taming sport in Tamil Nadu this year. Notably, PETA in its investigation report stated ‘jallikattu’ as a blood sport wherein bulls are being subjected to various types of cruelty.
