Sheikh Alavudeen, a 54-year-old disabled man, was burnt alive by two men. According to the Thiruvarur police report, The two men were drinking alcohol in public place which was noticed and warned by Alavudeen and later it became an argument, which made the two men to set fire on Alavudeen using petrol. However, The two men have been arrested under Sections 294 (b) singing or reciting obscene words in a public place and 302 Punishment for the murder of the IPC.
