Digital payments wallet Paytm and telecom operator Reliance Jio have been summoned by the central government on Friday for using PM Modi’s photograph in their advertisements. The government has reportedly questioned the companies whether they obtained prior permission before using Modi’s photo. Notably, Paytm supported Modi's demonetisation decision, while Jio claimed it was furthering government’s Digital India move.
