Out of the total 234 MLAs in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, 231 MLAs, excluding late CM Jayalalithaa, Speaker P Dhanapal and Coimbatore North MLA Arun Kumar, are expected to participate and vote for or against Edappadi Palanisamy’s government during the floor test. Palanisamy will need the support of 117 MLAs, while he claims to have the support of 122 MLAs. If six or more MLAs from Palanisamy faction vote against him, he will lose the floor test.
