Over 7000 women died in 2015 due to dowry harassment: NCRB

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reported that in 2015, as many as 7,634 women died in the country due to dowry harassment and 21 dowry deaths are reported across the country every day. Reports further revealed that after registration of dowry deaths, police have charge sheeted around 93.7 per cent of the accused, of which only 34.7 per cent have been convicted.
