The government's think tank, Niti Aayog, has reportedly recommended strategic disinvestment of loss-making Air India. According to reports, the disinvestment includes writing off loans to the tune of Rs 30,000 crore. Notably, Air India has a debt of around Rs 60,000 crore. This includes Rs 21,000 crore of aircraft-related loans and Rs 8,000 crore loan for working capital.
