Brazilian legend Cafu has said that Neymar will surpass Pele Brazil's record goalscorer. Speaking to the press, Brazil’s record appearance holder said, “Neymar is young and has time on his side. If he continues playing as he is now, then there is every possibility he will overtake Pele."  Notably, 25-year-old Neymar has scored 50 international goals, with only Pele, Ronaldo and Romario ahead of him in the country's scoring charts.
