Russia’s МС-21 jet, developed by the Irkut Division of the United Aircraft Corporation group, is set to compete with the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 MAX. The Irkut MC-21 is a twin-engine short to mid-range jet airliner with a capacity of 150–212 passengers. The developers claim that MC-21 will be faster than the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. The Russian jet will have a cruising speed of 870 kph, while the competitors reach only 842 and 828 kph. MC-21 will cost up to $85 million, which is significantly lower than its competitors.
