Cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu became the Cabinet Minister in the New Congress Government in Punjab which is headed by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Sidhu was administered the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday. Notably, Sidhu joined Congress party in January after leaving Bharatiya Janata Party where he was elected as MP in the year 2009.
