Misbah-ul-Haq announces retirement from Test cricket

Pakistan cricket team’s Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq announced his retirement from the longest format of the game on Thursday. Speaking to the press, Misbah said, “I will play my last series against West Indies. The upcoming series against West Indies will be my last.” Further, he added that he would continue to appear at the domestic level for a while. Notably, the 42-year-old who guided Pakistan to the top of ICC Test rankings in 2016, has played 72 Tests for Pakistan till date, scoring 4951 runs at an average of 45.84.
