According to reports, the Madras high court has acquitted Banu Sridhar, the niece of MGR, of all charges including murder and conspiracy. This comes nine years after former Tamil Nadu chief minister M G Ramachandran's kin Vijayan alias MGR Vijayan was murdered. Banu was sentenced to a life term by a principal sessions in Chennai last year, along with six others.
