Responding to an affidavit that demanded the election process of civic bodies to be completed by July 2017, the Madras High Court has reportedly directed the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission to hold the civic polls within the duration mentioned by the petitioner. Meanwhile, B.Kumar, the senior counsel for TNSEC, has stated that the body will be in a position to complete the entire election process only by 17th of July as there was no sufficient time to migrate electoral roll provided by the ECI. Meanwhile, a final decision is expected to be made on the issue, in the next hearing on April 24.
