A massive outrage sparked across the country after a controversial image of PM Narendra Modi spinning the chakra was placed instead of Gandhi Ji's image on the 2017 daily calendars and diaries of the Khadi Village Industries Commission. Meanwhile, Opposition parties and leaders have condemned this act.  KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena claimed that PM Modi is khadi's biggest brand ambassador and that he has made it famous in India as well as abroad.
