The student organisations of both the ruling and opposition parties in Kerala conducted beef fests on Saturday. The fest was conducted as part of protests against the Central government's decision to implement a nationwide ban on the sales of cattle for slaughter. Students' Federation of India, the students' organisation of the ruling CPM had called for organising beef fests at 210 area centers in the state where cooked beef was served to the public on Saturday.
