England top-order batsman Joe Root has been named as the new England captain for the Test side by the England and Wales cricket board on Monday. “It is a huge honor to be given the England Test captaincy. We have a very good group of players, and I am looking forward to leading them out in the summer”, said Root. Root made his Test debut in December 2012 and he has played 53 Test matches scoring 4594 runs with an average of 52.80.  England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been named as the Vice-Captain of the Test team.
