Cellular operator's body COAI director general Rajan Mathews said that Reliance Jio's latest pricing would affect the banks and also the government. Mathews also added that the pricing would continue to bleed the industry and there is a risk of cascading impact on firms that have large exposure to the telecom sector. Lower pricing is good for consumers, but whether such pricing confirms to tariff regulations is a matter to be settled by the courts and the telecom tribunal, said Mathews.
