More than thousands of students from as many as 40 colleges in Coimbatore have reportedly gathered in front of the district collector’s office to protest against Supreme Court’s ban on Jallikattu. In a bid to show their dissent, two students, Raj Kumar and Bhoopalan, allegedly tried to immolate themselves during the Coimbatore protests, but were caught and detained by the cops.
