Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has announced that the total expenditure of budget 2017-18 had been placed at Rs 21.47 lakh crore. Notably, the Defence expenditure, excluding pension, is Rs 2.74 lakh crore, while for the Transport sector, the expenditure is Rs 2.41 Lakh Crore, and for rural, agricultural and allied sectors it is Rs 1.87 crore. The total resource to transferred to the states and union territories is Rs 4.11 lakh crore.
