The Indian Space Research Organisation on Monday successfully launched the country's heaviest rocket 'Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark III,' which carries the 3,136 kg communication satellite GSAT-19. Reportedly, the 43.43-metre rocket that weighs 640 tonnes is capable of lifting payloads of up to 4,000 kg into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit. The GSLV was developed in 15 years at the cost of Rs 300 crore.
