Manipur’s Iron Lady Irom Sharmila has reportedly planned to contest against Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh in the Thoubal constituency. Sharmila is the convenor of the newly formed People’s Resurgence and Justice Alliance. Notably, Sharmila ended her 16-year fast demanding the repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act to contest elections. She will be able to repeal the AFSPA if she becomes the CM, Sharmila claimed.
