PRIEST TO CARRY DALIT DEVOTEE ON SHOULDERS FOR EQUALITY

A 60-year-old Hindu priest from Hyderabad will reportedly be carrying a Dalit man on his shoulders into a temple on Monday to propagate equality. C.S. Rangarajan will carry Dalit devotee, Aditya Parasri inside the Sri Ranganatha temple in Hyderabad amidst hymns. Aditya will be made to perform Puja at 4 pm on Monday.
The priest reportedly said, "Not many people know that the Alwars of the Vaishnava tradition also comprised Dalits and even a woman. Our Sanathana Dharma has treated everybody equally before the god." The act is allegedly a 2700-year-old ritual against atrocities on the backward class.
