The Managing Director of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Tomin Thachankary took to the local buses, wore a blue uniform and became a bus conductor on May 1. The officer reportedly said, "Till the time I don't know the work they do, how can I lead them? It will also give me an opportunity to interact with commuters."
Thachankary started in Thiruvananthapuram and travelled for 119 km greeting passengers and selling tickets. The officer finally got down at Thiruvala. Videos of the officer were taken by passengers and posted on social media.
He said, "The key area of my corporation is handled by drivers and conductors who number about 32,000. Hence, I thought I will take a conductor's job. I will soon turn a driver. I have already applied for the license."
