Twitch is a platform where anyone can stream themselves doing a variety of activities, talk to their viewers and ask for donations. Though the community can be toxic, they sometimes help those in need.
A boy going by the name zylTV, recently started streaming himself playing the game Fortnite on Twitch. But the boy is doing it for his dad.
zylTV says his father has stage 4 rectal cancer, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Unfortunately, they are running out of money, and the boy decided to help them how he can.
The platform technically has rules mandating streamers be at least 13 years old. It's unclear how old zylTV is but it might be one instance where Twitch is willing to look the other way. In any case, he's been putting in gruelling 10-hour shift playing Fortnite to raise contributions from strangers, reports India Times.
His story went viral on reddit, and many have pledged to help him.
