Indigo is planning to purchase 50 ATR turbo-prop planes worth over $1.3 billion, the low-cost carrier announced on Tuesday. Notably, IndiGo will become the third Indian carrier after Air India and Jet Airways to induct the 68-78 seater ATR planes in its fleet. IndiGo is expected to be a part of the government's regional air connectivity scheme UDAN by inducting the ATR planes, say reports.
