The Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises has reportedly withdrawn the subsidies it provided to the production of mild hybrid diesel cars. Noticeably, Maruti Suzuki's Ciaz and Ertiga were receiving a grant of Rs 13,000 under this scheme. The price of the mild-hybrid cars is expected to be hiked before the end of this week. Lower fuel efficiency among the mild-hybrids is said to be the reason behind this sudden announcement.
