Police in Telangana have arrested a youth for calling the emergency number 100 in the state.

Madhu hail frsom Narsapur village in Daulatabad area of Telangana state. He is 22 years old. Madhu had called the emergency number 100 on Friday last week. Around 2.30 am, the police received an emergency call from Madhu who claimed that his life was in danger. He told them that a group of people were after his life and was about to assault him, the police said.
Shocked Officers
When the night patrol team reached the spot, they did not find any disturbance. Instead, Madhu allegedly told them that his emergency was getting hold of two bottles of beer and that the police should address it, officers said. After the police collected his details and returned, he was summoned to the station, along with his father, and counselled.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Inspector of Police Ramesh Kumar said, "We advise the public to Dial 100 service only in case of genuine emergencies. A case was registered and Madhu was counselled at the police station."
The incident where a Telangana youth called the police emergency number 100 for alcohol is being talked about among the people in the area. Similarly, a person from Nalkonda area last month called 100 saying his wife did not cook mutton.
