TWO FLIGHTS COME CLOSE TO EACH OTHER POST TAKE-OFF ALARMING EVERYONE - DETAILS!

An Indigo flight has departed from Bangalore International Airport to Kolkata.

At the same time, another flight has departed for Bhuvaneswar. An airport control officer apparently allowed the plane to take off without noticing another plane took off. Due to this the passengers were frightened as the two planes went in close proximity to each other. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a three-month suspension order for the officer, who is currently under investigation for the incident on January 7

The DGCA said in a statement yesterday that "the South Tower of the airport has given permission for Flight 6E 455 to take off, while the North Tower has given permission for Flight 6E 246 to take off. Authorities issued an emergency order to divert both planes as they approached." >

Usually in such a situation the distance between the two planes should be 1000 feet. But, there has only been 100 feet between these planes. The matter was classified as a "serious incident" and was investigated by the Bureau of Air Crash Investigation (AAIB). Furthermore, due to this, the DGCA has decided to issue a warning letter to the tower supervisor not to monitor the tower's activities and report the incident.

Following this, the DGCA suspended the license of the Northern Tower Controller for a period of 3 months for failing to comply with runway regulations. The DGCA said in a statement that the officer was also working as a controller for the North Tower at the time of the incident.
