Home > News Shots > IndiaIn Odisha, a 11-year-old boy demanded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to get him admitted to a private school for better quality education.
Request
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended a meeting in Bihar last Saturday. Then, a 11-year-old boy named Sonu, who had come to the function, went in front of the Chief Minister and started requesting with tears in his eyes. Sonu, a sixth grader, told the Chief Minister that he wanted to study well and asked for help as he did not have the facilities to study in a private school.
Speaking in tears, Sonu eloquently said, "Teachers do not provide good education in the school I attend. We do not have the facilities to study in private schools. So, please help me admitted to a private school."
Action
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who listened carefully to Sonu's request, immediately directed the authorities to take immediate action in this regard. This amazed those who were present.
The boy continued, "My father runs the yogurt business, but spends all his earnings on alcohol. Sometimes I take care of the business. At the same time, I take tuitions for students up to 5th grade. I will go to high place. I can not afford to study in private schools, so it would be better with the help of the government. "
According to a report released by UNESCO in 2021, 56 per cent of teaching posts in schools in Bihar are vacant. 89% of these are Government schools. Bihar tops the list of teacher shortage states.
Neighbors have been praising Sonu for asking the Chief Minister to give him a good education.
