EX CBI CHIEF GETS FINED IN COURT AS HE CHALLENGES TWITTER BLUE TICK REMOVAL - DETAILS!
Home > News Shots > IndiaA former IPS officer has asked the court to reinstate Blue Tick, which was removed from his Twitter page. Judges in this case have raised a barrage of questions.
Blue Tick
The popular social networking site Twitter has been offering this Blue Tick to certain of its users. The Twitter company provides Blue Ticks to prove that someone's account is authentic. Meanwhile, Nageshwara Rao, a former IPS officer and former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, has filed a case in the Delhi High Court seeking the recovery of the Blue Tick for his Twitter account.
On April 7, he filed a lawsuit alleging that Blue Tick had been removed from his Twitter page in March 2022.
Inquiry
The petition was taken up for hearing on the 7th in the presence of Judge Yashwant Verma. At the time, the judge had dismissed the petition, asking him to reapply in Twitter for Blue Tick. In this situation, Rao had again petitioned to have Blue Tick on his Twitter page.
The judge, who reconsidered the petition yesterday, said, "We passed an order on 7 April. What has constrained you to approach the court immediately? Your client seems to have a lot of free time. Do you want a return gift from us.”
Penalty
The judge also announced a fine of Rs 10,000 for the officer who approached the court again to have Blue Tick on his Twitter page. In the petition filed by Nagaswara Rao, he had said that a grievance committee should be set up to deal with the grievances or complaints of users of social media sites like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
